Monthly Tea Lounge: December

As colder days and longer nights return, we turn inward to be warmed by nourishing plants and hot tea, and we're returning to this monthly offering of the tea lounge. This month, we’ll gather together and get to know various Zingiberacea (ginger family) plants through the experiences of tea tasting, somatic meditations of taste, and sharing our individual and collective (hi)stories with these plants. You'll also have the opportunity to make your own powdered mix with these plants that you can take home for your own warming beverages (or baking!) throughout the season <3

Date: Sat Dec 9th
Time: 5-6:30pm
Cost: Sliding Scale $10-25  (please review our sliding scale page for where to pay)

One herb at a time, you’ll get to sip tea infusions without knowing the plant’s name, and through experiencing taste and herbal energetics, the plant will be revealed and reflections shared.

Earlier this year, we got familiar with herbs in their plant families of Rosaceae (rose), Malvaceae (mallow), and Lamiaceae (mint), and Apiaceae (umbellifera). *All teas are safe to consume alongside medications, or during pregnancy/lactation

Please bring: a journal / paper & pen for reflections, your own mug for tea tasting, anything you'd like to add to the altar space for the evening, and optionally a pillow/camping chair/blanket to get cozy and comfortable with <3

Access notes:
Workshop is limited to 15 participants, with advance registration required. As with all the indoor events we host, KN95, N95, or equivalent respirator masks are required while inside the studio for all participants - we have some at the door if you need one. The studio is quite warm when the heat is on, for this event we'll have low lighting, HEPA air purifiers running, and a variety of seating options. Full access notes for the Paragon Building and our studio can be found HERE.
