Silver Buttonwood
The buttonwood is a member of the mangrove family, thriving in the edges where land meets saltwater. The leaves are fuzzy and soft, the palest silvery gray green that stands out against other trees, but blends with the sand and water.
I grew up knowing these trees in Florida, small enough to climb as a child and rub your cheek on the velvety leaves.
