A different, yet highly delightful variety of sumac with notes of black tea, jujube, and cranberry but with that same tart, lemon zestiness we all know and love.
Tasting notes: Lemon ∙ Black Tea ∙ Jujube ∙ Cranberry
Origin: Ningthi, Manipur, India
Harvest year: 2022
Grown wild and foraged by the Ningthi village in the Ukhrul hills of Northern India, this sundried and hand-pounded Heimang or Chinese Sumac is sourced for us by our friends at Hillwild. Sumac is often used to ease digestion, and as a tangy, flavorful souring agent used when fresh lemons aren't in season.
