Essences are energetic, or vibrational, infusion of a plant, place, or time. They hold the essence, or energy, of something without needing to do any harvesting. Essences are typically preserved in brandy, honey, glycerine, and/or fruit vinegars ~ so check the labels so see which are alcohol free!
