Emma is a disabled hard femme lesbian who uses a wheelchair full time. She has a progressive neuromuscular genetic condition with symptoms like fatigue, loss of motor coordination, slurred speech, diabetes etc etc. Her quality of life is greatly improved by having a PCA/Eli. She lives in Northampton, MA with her partner, sweet pup, and cranky kitty. Emma is unfamiliar with the concept of “free time” but enjoys creating, board games, home-making, and gossip.
Eli, the PCA in this here situation, is an autistic Jewish genderqueer nerd with a deep love for earth science, food, and single-subject nonfiction books (preferably from the library). They live alone in Easthampton with the ghosts of several cats, too many rocks, a really nice stand mixer, and a living room that makes visitors say, “wow, your aesthetics *do* overlap a lot with my grandma’s.” They try to always be learning something- a language, new art forms, Jewish ritual practice, how to be a better friend.
