Welcome to MXED GREENS' 2023 Medicine Making 101 Workshop Series!
Last year, we hosted a medicine making crash course at Just Roots called "Never Too Many Mason Jars," and this year we're expanding the idea to create a full workshop series to learn practical herbalism skills. All levels of experience are welcome!
Throughout the year, you'll get to dive in to a different herbal medicine preparation with us. All materials are provided, and you'll get to take home the medicine you make each time. At the start of each month, we'll announce the date and open registration for that month's workshop.
Up first: Oils + Salves!
Date: Thursday March 9th, 2023
Time: 6-7:30pm
Cost: $10-$30 sliding scale materials fee (please review our sliding scale page for where to pay)
What you'll learn:
> How to infuse an oil with fresh or dried plants
> How to make a salve with your infused oil + beeswax
> How to choose oils, and reasons why you would make an infused oil or salve
> Tips for avoiding mold/spoilage, as well as trouble shooting
Access notes:
Workshops will take place at MXED GREENS' storefront in Northampton's Maplewood Shops. The space and bathroom are wheelchair accessible. Masks are required for all while inside, and we have free surgical masks, KN95s, and N95s available for anyone. There will be a variety of standing and seating options. Registration is preferred, but not required ahead of time. We will cap the event to 10 participants for space considerations.
